Philanthropy in clean energy
Many philanthropic foundations are seeking to rise to the challenge of the energy transition in the interests of clean air and water, a safe climate, nature protection and human prosperity. There are good ways to invest resources in clean energy grantmaking – for example the developing world, communities, women and the energy poor could easily be forgotten.
PIE supports an informal group of foundations with data and analysis so they can share their experiences and best practice in energy grantmaking in a well informed and collaborative atmosphere.
Through sharing experiences and ideas this peer network known as Aligned Funders in International Energy (ALFIE) is able to have a greater collective impact in encouraging a just energy transition.
